Two months have gone so quickly, and we realize that each day has its own troubles, but the worst place we can sit as believers in Christ is in comfort.
The Lord has reminded us time and time again that we depend on Him and that, although we often want to be in control of things, it is necessary to learn to let go and not be anxious.
The month of April was a month in which we were able to see firsthand how the Lord adds to His church those whom He wants to save and turns the hearts of people in need toward Him.
Romi and I have been sharing the Gospel with two families. If you have been reading our previous newsletters, you may remember them. Nacho and Elisa, a young couple who came from another region of Chile. We met them last year in our apartment building and have grown a wonderful friendship with them. On the other hand, there is also Fiorella, Adeline and Jhon who were also our neighbors and have now moved to the building across from ours. Over the past month, we have been able to share the Gospel with them, and they have been able to attend church.
We are very excited about what God is doing because they have shown a genuine interest in knowing God. It is striking to us how many people have never truly heard the message of the Cross. God never grows tired of stirring hearts and creating a thirst to know Him more deeply.
Romi gave a Bible to Adeline and to her mother, Fiorella, just as she gave one to Elisa last year. And we continue to pray for them as we continue to share time with them as well.
Early in May Romi traveled to Mexico to pick up Milka and bring her back to be part of our family again but now here in Chile. Also while we were looking for flights for her the Immigration Department in Chile requested Romi to go within 60 calendar days with her documents at the Consulate in Mexico City. So just like that, her trip to Mexico also had another plan in Gods heart and He already knew she was going to have to go anyway in order to complete her residency application.
And with the exciting news that during this trip, I unexpectedly received the email that my temporary residency application had been APPROVED!!! And that my Chilean ID card was going to be ready within the following two weeks.
It is amazing how God responded in this way at the moment we least expected it!!
This has brought us so much joy because God has answered not only our prayers but also the prayers of many people who joined us praying for our residency applications. Knowing firsthand now that God wants us here in Chile for another season, and having the peace to continue doing what He has called us to do here—planting this new church with our friends and learning to win more of Christ in our family.
Romi and Dan’s applications are still pending, but with mine approved, it is much more likely that theirs will be approved soon as well.
Dan, on the other hand, continues to grow in stature, age, and knowledge of Jesus. I am amazed by the capability God has given Romi to do homeschool. The Lord truly encourages us to continue with this great challenge of home education. It goes against what the world tells you, but we see a very special connection with Dan, and it is evident how God is also developing him in his relationships and also in knowing Him more.
April and May were full of challenges in my job, as I began overseeing a group of 12 people whom I am responsible for supervising, motivating, and leading so they can meet their goals within the company. I had never been in charge of a group of people outside of the church before, but today I understand that the Lord had prepared me in the past to take this steps at my workplace.
It has been difficult, but the Lord has given me what I need to care for each person, encourage them, and accomplish the objectives we have as a team. Interestingly, the character trait that Romi has been teaching in Dan these past few days has been INTEGRITY.
As I was asking God what to do in order to lead this team, the Lord answered me, “You need Me.” We often separate our “church life” from our “work life,” but since we arrived in Chile, it has been very clear that God brought us here with a specific purpose: a Monday-through-Friday job outside of a “Christian bubble,” where the light truly shines in the darkness and where His light is truly needed.
I am very happy and motivated because there are no coincidences with God. Even from Mexico, He gave me a job that was preparing me for exactly what I am doing here today. I could say that I have no experience in this because I did not study business administration or commercial engineering or anything similar, but that is exactly where I see that God gets all the glory. When one is simply willing and attentive to hear His voice, it becomes so “easy” to be part of what the Lord is doing.
On the other hand, as a church we had an event in the park during Passover. Several families attended, and we enjoyed a wonderful time playing games, sharing, eating, and fellowshipping together. Diego shared about the crucifixion and the eternal life we can have in Jesus. Also Romi and I were invited to participate in a conference at a church in Ñuñoa last week, where we led worship, meet new people, and were encouraged by the teachings from God’s Word.
We are currently just starting discipleship classes, and about 18 people have signed up. It is very encouraging to see how God has moved in their hearts to set aside time during the week to learn more about Him. Next week on June 14th we will celebrate ONE YEAR of officially gathering as a church. It has been amazing to see all that the Lord has done and the lives He has touched. Regardless of the numbers, if the Lord has chosen to touch and draw even one or two hearts to Himself, it has all been worth it. By God’s grace, there are around 10 families and several other individuals in whom we have seen God work, allowing them to know Him and draw closer to Him.

In August, Diego Vere, Ivan Nicole, and I will be traveling to Las Vegas for a fellowship gathering with other churches. Romi will stay home with Dan.
WE ARE SO THANKFUL FOR:
For Benja’s approved residency permit.
For Milka’s safe arrival here without complications.
For the families who have continued attending church.
For the lives of our neighbors.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
For Romi’s and Dan’s residency applications.
That the Lord would continue equipping me for the work both inside and outside the church.
That God would continue adding people to the church.

Tan rápido han pasado ya dos meses, y nos damos cuenta que cada día trae su propio afán pero el peor lugar en donde podemos estar como creyentes en Cristo es la comodidad.
El Señor se ha encargado de vez tras vez recordarnos que dependemos de Él y que muchas veces aunque queramos tener el control de las cosas es necesario aprender a soltar y no afanarse.
El mes de abril fue un mes donde pudimos ver de primera mano como el Señor añade a su iglesia a los que quiere hacer salvos y convierte los corazones de las personas necesitadas a Él.
Romi y yo hemos estado compartiendo el evangelio con dos familias. Si nos han estado leyendo en las cartas anteriores los han de recordar. Nacho y Elisa, un matrimonio joven que vienen de otra región de Chile y el año pasado los conocimos en el edificio y hemos cultivado una bonita amistad con ellos. Y por otro lado también Fiorella, Jhon y Adeline, que igual eran vecinos de nosotros y ahora se cambiaron al edificio de en frente. Con ambas familias hemos podido este último mes compartido el evangelio, y han podido asistir a la iglesia.
Nos emociona mucho lo que Dios está haciendo porque han tenido un interés genuino por conocer a Dios, nos llama mucho la atención que muchas personas en realidad no han escuchado el mensaje de la Cruz. Dios no se cansa de inquietar los corazones y poner sed de profundizar mas en Él.
Romi le regalo a Adeline y a Fioreloa su mama una biblia, al igual que a Elisa el año pasado.
Con las nuevas que Romi viajó a Mexico para recoger a Milka y volver a formar parte de nuestra familia pero ahora aquí en Chile. Curiosamente el Ministerio de Migraciones le solicito a Romi presentarse dentro de 60 días naturales, con sus documentos en el Consulado de Ciudad de México. Así que tal cual, vemos como Dios ya tenía todo preparado aun para este viaje a Mexico.
Y durante este viaje sorpresivamente me contestaron a mi que mi solicitud de residencia temporal había sido aprobada y podría pasar por mi carnet de identidad en las siguientes dos semanas. Impresionante como Dios en el momento que menos lo esperamos respondió de esta manera.
Nos ha traído tanta alegría el primero, que Dios ha respondido no solo a nuestras oraciones pero las oraciones de muchas personas que se han unido pidiendo una respuesta en cuanto a nuestra solicitud como extranjeros. El saber de primera mano que Dios nos quiere aquí en Chile por otra temporada y la tranquilidad para continuar haciendo lo que El nos ha puesto por hace acá plantando esta nueva iglesia con nuestros amigos y aprendiendo a ganar a Cristo en nuestra familia.
La solicitud de Romi y de Dan siguen pendientes, pero teniendo la mía aprobada es mucho mas seguro que no tarden en aprobar la de ellos.
Dan por otro lado, sigue creciendo en estatura, edad y conocimiento de Jesús. Me impresiona la capacidad que Dios le ha dado a Romi respecto al homeschool. En verdad nos anima el Señor a seguir con este gran reto que es la enseñanza en casa. Va en contra de lo que el mundo te dice, pero vemos una conexión muy especial con Dan y es palpable el desarrollo que Dios también le está dando para relacionarse y conocerle a El.
El mes de Abril y Mayo estuvo lleno de retos en mi trabajo, ya que comencé a estar a cargo de un grupo de 12 personas a las cuales tengo que supervisar, motivar y dirigir para que puedan cumplir sus metas en la empresa. Yo nunca había estado a cargo de un grupo de personas fuera De la Iglesia, pero el día de hoy entiendo que el Señor me capacitó durante años y hoy me permite desenvolverme en el área laboral en este aspecto.
Ha sido dificil, pero el Señor me ha dado lo que necesito para cuidar de cada elemento, animarlos y cumplir los objetivos que tenemos como compañía. Es curioso el rasgo de carácter que ha estado viendo Romi con Dan los últimos días: INTEGRIDAD.
Mientras le preguntaba a Dios qué hacer para poder dirigir a este equipo, me contestaba el Señor: “Me necesitas a mi” Solemos separar nuestra “vida de iglesia” de nuestra “vida laboral”, pero desde que llegamos a Chile fue muy claro que Dios nos llevaba con un propósito claro: Un trabajo de lunes a viernes, fuera de una “burbuja cristiana”. Donde realmente la luz resplandece donde esta oscuro y donde es necesario alumbrar.
Estoy muy feliz y motivado porque para Dios no hay coincidencias aun desde México me dio un trabajo totalmente encaminado a lo que estoy haciendo el día de hoy aquí. Pudiera decir que no tengo experiencia en esto porque no estudié una ingeniería comercial o algo por el estilo, pero ahí es en donde veo que Dios es el que se lleva la gloria en todo. Estando uno simplemente dispuesto y atento a atender Su voz, tan “fácil” se vuelve ser parte de lo que el Señor hace.
Por otro lado, cómo iglesia tuvimos una actividad en el parque durante Semana Santa, asistieron varias familias y compartimos un buen tiempo jugando, conversando, comiendo, etc. Diego compartió de la crucifixión y la vida eterna que podemos tener en Jesús. A Romi y a mi nos invitaron a participar en una conferencia de una Iglesia en Ñuñoa, pudimos dirigir la alabanza y conocer mas personas al igual que ser animados escuchando los tiempos donde se compartió la Palabra.
Estamos en temporada de discipulados y hay unas 18 personas inscritas, nos da mucho animo ver como Dios ha movido el corazón de ellos a poder tomar estos tiempos durante la semana para poder aprender mas. Y este mes de Junio estamos por cumplir UN AÑO de oficialmente estarnos reuniendo como iglesia. Ha sido impresionante todo lo que el Señor ha hecho y las vidas que ha tocado las cuales no importando el numero, si el Señor ha decidido tocar y acercar un corazón o dos siempre habrá valido la pena. Gracias a Dios hay alrededor de 10 familias y otros individuos mas en las que hemos visto como Dios ha tocado sus corazones y han podido conocer a Dios y acercarse mas a El.

En Agosto estaremos viajando Diego Vere, Ivan Nicole y yo a Las Vegas a una reunión de convivencia con otras iglesias.
