Entramos ya al mes patrio y ha venido con muchas cosas nuevas para nosotros.
Iglesia
En la Iglesia las familias siguen siendo afirmadas por medio de las reuniones Dominicales, al igual que por medio de los discipulados y reuniones de oración entre semana. Siguen mostrando mucho interés por aprender más de Dios y de la Biblia.
Diego y Verena tuvieron un viaje importante a Ciudad de México, donde pudieron compartir con hermanos y también impartir un par de cursos para las Iglesias que estuvieron representadas.
Benjamin pudo asistir en la enseñanza durante esos Domingos aquí en Santiago.
En el mes de Noviembre, por otro lado, estaremos apoyando con el audio y la alabanza en un evento de una Iglesia Bautista aquí en Santiago. Esperamos en Dios poder ser de bendición para ellos.
Fiestas Patrias en Chile
En el mes de Septiembre, Chile festeja sus fiestas patrias y hemos aprendido que son los festejos más esperados del año para la cultura Chilena.
Son fechas que esperan para poder estar en familia y disfrutar de sus platillos típicos, así como sus tradicionales bailes y juegos.
Por otro lado, mucha gente se encuentra sin rumbo ni sentido. Durante este mes, se registraron días donde hasta 4 personas decidían terminar con sus vidas dando un brinco a las vías del metro.
Esto causo mucho asombro aun para la comunidad local. Fue muy desgarrador enterarnos de esto, además que eran personas muy jóvenes.
Hemos estado orando específicamente para que Dios abra oportunidades y podamos acercarnos a estas personas de alguna manera. Aquí no es como en Ciudad de México que existe la posibilidad de públicamente hacer algún evento dentro del metro.
Salida a Argentina
Tenemos la necesidad de salir del país para poder renovar nuestro permiso de estancia. Lo más cercano es Argentina, a la ciudad de Mendoza, así que estamos prontos a adquirir los vuelos.
Esto lo tendremos que estar haciendo cada tres meses hasta que el consulado apruebe nuestra solicitud para residir en el país.
Dan
Dan está comenzando su segundo ciclo de homeshool, comenzando el segundo año de Preescolar.
Actualmente pedimos su material desde Estados Unidos, sin embargo, al estar tan lejos el envío es un poco más complicado y más costoso, al igual que el pago de impuestos nacionales para poder retirar los libros.
Pero mientras, seguimos con lo que tenemos aquí. Es un tiempo que él y yo disfrutamos mucho.
Peticiones de Oración

- Por la Iglesia, que Dios siga afirmando por medio de Su Palabra y Su Espiritu a los congregantes al igual que abriendo oportunidades para extendernos a los de afuera en esta ciudad.
- Por Diego, Verena y el liderazgo.
- Por nuestra salida próxima a Argentina y que nuestra solicitud pueda ser aprobada pronto.
- Por los recursos para nuestras salidas recurrentes.
- Que el Señor continúe sosteniendo nuestra fe y confianza en Él en medio de todo lo que hacemos.

We have now entered the national month, and it has come with many new things for us.
Church
At Church, families continue to be strengthened every Sunday, as well as through discipleships and midweek prayer meetings. They keep showing much interest in learning more about God and the Bible.
Diego and Verena had an important trip to Mexico City, where they were able to fellowship with brothers and sisters and also teach a couple of courses for the Churches that assisted to this conference.
Benjamin was able to do the teaching during those Sundays here in Santiago.
In November, we will be supporting with audio and a worship time at an event of a Baptist Church here in Santiago. We trust in God to be a blessing for them.
National Holidays in Chile
In September, Chile celebrates its national holidays, and we have learned that these are the most anticipated celebrations of the year for Chilean culture.
These are dates when families gather to enjoy their traditional dishes, dances, and fun games.
On the other hand, many people here go through their life feeling lost and without any purpose.
During this month, there were days when up to four people decided to end their lives by jumping onto the subway tracks…
This caused great shock even for the local community. It was heartbreaking to hear about this, especially since they were young people.
We have been praying specifically for God to open a door and opportunities for us to reach out to these people in some way. Here, unlike Mexico City, there is no possibility to publicly organize any event inside the subway system. Please help us pray for this!
Trip to Argentina
Early in October we need to leave the country in order to renew our stay permit. The closest option is Argentina, the city of Mendoza, so we are close to book flights.
We will need to do this every three months until the consulate approves our request to reside in the country.
Dan
Dan is beginning his second homeschooling cycle, starting his second year of Preschool.
He is very happy, excited and loves do learn new things each week.
We order his curriculum from the United States; however, since we are so far away, shipping is a bit more complicated and costly, as well as paying national taxes to retrieve the books.
In the meantime, we continue with the resources we have here.
It’s a time that both he and I enjoy it very much.
Prayer Requests
- For the Church, that God may continue through His Word and Spirit to strengthen the congregation and open opportunities to reach out to those out there in the city.
- For Diego, Verena, and the leadership.
- For our upcoming trip to Argentina, that our request may be approved soon.
- For the resources needed for our recurring trips.
- That the Lord may continue to sustain our faith and trust in Him in the midst of all we do.
