Ya estamos en el mes de junio y muchas cosas interesantes han sucedido estas semanas. Estamos contentos de compartir con ustedes un poco de lo que hemos estado viviendo.
🎪 Evento evangelístico – Finales de mayo
Tuvimos la oportunidad de formar parte de un evento evangelístico, donde hubo una obra especial para niños y también un concierto. Se crearon actividades para los niños que iban pasando, y se ofreció café y galletas a quienes decidieron quedarse un rato. Sin duda, fue un evento muy genuino donde hubo oportunidad de compartir el mensaje de la cruz y se invitó a las personas a acercarse a Dios, a pesar de que más de la mitad del evento estuvo lloviendo sin parar. No tuvimos ningún inconveniente, y aunque hacía frío, todo se desarrolló como se había planeado.
Como equipo de Awaken Santiago, pudimos ayudar a preparar el almuerzo y colaboramos un poco en la instalación del audio. Benjamín y yo también fuimos parte del concierto y tocamos algunas canciones.
✈️ Visita desde CDMX
A mediados de mes, nos vinieron a visitar desde Ciudad de México nuestros amigos Carla y Jürgen. Pasamos tiempos muy especiales con ellos. ¡Siempre es bueno ver a personas que queremos!
🎉 Inauguración oficial – Awaken Santiago
Por otro lado, nos alegra mucho anunciar que el día 7 de junio tuvimos finalmente la inauguración oficial de la Iglesia Awaken Santiago. Fue un momento muy especial; se invitó tanto a personas cercanas como a gente nueva. Tuvimos una recepción sencilla con comida y té caliente.
Hubo un tiempo de alabanza, y personas que ayudaron a Diego y Verena hace unos meses en reuniones pequeñas participaron, al igual que otros que compartieron palabras de ánimo para este nuevo comienzo. Diego dio un breve mensaje sobre la parábola de los talentos en Mateo 25:14-30.
🙌 Comunidad y reuniones
Hemos seguido teniendo nuestras reuniones semanales de oración, y nuevas personas se han ido integrando. Marcela, una mamá soltera con dos hijas, ha comenzado a asistir, al igual que la familia de Alejandro y Arely con sus hijos. Nos alegra verlos cada domingo, y oramos por lo que Dios está haciendo en sus vidas.
Cada domingo por la mañana, antes de comenzar cualquier actividad en la iglesia, tenemos un devocional y tiempo de oración. Han sido momentos valiosos donde podemos enfocarnos como equipo antes de preparar todo para la reunión.
Benjamín se encarga de dejar listo el sonido; los dos hemos estado dirigiendo la alabanza en los servicios. Vere y Nicole preparan las clases para los niños. Iván nos ayuda con la proyección de letras y versículos. Jonathan y Andrea siempre colaboran en preparar el salón, asegurándose de que esté limpio y listo para recibir a cada persona.
💼 Trabajo y relaciones
Benjamín se ha sentido muy contento en su trabajo. Poco a poco va entendiendo mejor cómo cumplir con sus metas, y ha podido compartir con sus compañeros. También hemos tenido buenas conversaciones con la conserje del edificio, quien ha mostrado interés en escuchar sobre Dios.
🧒 Dan y homeschool
Dan y yo hemos seguido con el homeschool. Cada día ha sido una oportunidad para trabajar tanto en el aprendizaje como en el carácter, tanto en él como en mí.
Ha seguido aprendiendo números decimales, letras del abecedario y sus sonidos. Comenzó clases de música con su papá y le encanta hacer manualidades. La mayoría de los días está motivado con lo que aprende, ¡y hasta ha memorizado algunos versículos! También celebramos su cuarto cumpleaños partiendo su pastel en la iglesia. Estuvo muy feliz.
Como familia, seguimos adaptándonos a nuestras nuevas rutinas.
🛂 Documentos y migración
Esta semana recibimos respuesta del consulado: nos solicitaron renovar algunos documentos. Tenemos cita el 26 de juniopara darle seguimiento. Nuestro permiso migratorio vence en un mes, así que tendremos que salir del país o pagar una multa para quedarnos.

- Por la solicitud de residencia temporal, que el proceso avance de forma rápida y que los documentos que presentemos sean correctos.
- Por las personas que se están uniendo a la iglesia.
- Para que Dios fortalezca los matrimonios de quienes estamos sirviendo.
- Por nuestra salud.
💬 APOYO
- El invierno ha sido más crudo de lo que imaginábamos, y necesitamos ropa para abrigarnos mejor del frío.
- Recursos para el próximo mes, ya que necesitaremos salir del país o pagar extension de días por quedarnos.

We’re already in the month of June, and many interesting things have happened over the past few weeks. We’re happy to share with you a bit of what we’ve been living.
🎪 Evangelistic Event – End of May
We had the opportunity to take part in an evangelistic event that included a special play for children and a concert. There were activities for the kids passing by, and we offered coffee and cookies to those who decided to stay for a while.
It was a very genuine event where the message of the cross was shared, and people were invited to draw near to God—even though it rained nonstop for more than half the time. Thankfully, there were no issues, and despite the cold, everything went as planned.
As part of the Awaken Santiago team, we helped prepare lunch and assisted with the audio setup. Benjamín and I also participated in the concert and played some songs.
✈️ Visit from CDMX
In the middle of the month, our friends Carla and Jürgen came to visit us from Mexico City. We had a very special time with them. It’s always great to see people we love!
🎉 Official Launch – Awaken Santiago
We’re also happy to share that on June 7, we officially launched Awaken Santiago Church. It was a very meaningful moment. We invited close friends and new people as well.
We had a simple reception with food and hot tea.
There was a time of worship, and people who had supported Diego and Verena in small gatherings over the past months also took part, along with others who shared encouraging words for this new beginning. Diego shared a short message on the Parable of the Talents, from Matthew 25:14–30.
🙌 Community and Meetings
We’ve continued with our weekly prayer meetings, and new people have been joining. Marcela, a single mom with two daughters, has started attending, as well as Alejandro and Arely’s family with their children. We’re glad to see them every Sunday, and we pray for what God is doing in their lives.
Every Sunday morning, before any church activities begin, we have a devotional and a time of prayer. These moments help us stay focused as a team before we get everything ready for the service.
Benjamín takes care of the sound setup; the two of us have been leading worship. Vere and Nicole prepare the kids' classes. Iván helps with projecting the lyrics and verses. Jonathan and Andrea always help prepare the space, making sure it’s clean and ready to welcome everyone.
💼 Work and Relationships
Benjamín has been feeling good at work. Little by little, he’s better understanding how to meet his goals and has had opportunities to share with his coworkers.
We’ve also had good conversations with the building concierge, who has shown interest in hearing more about God.
🧒 Dan and Homeschool
Dan and I have continued with homeschool. Each day is an opportunity to grow, both in learning and in character—for him and for me.
He has been learning about decimal numbers, the alphabet and its sounds. He started music classes with his dad and loves doing crafts. Most days he’s motivated by what he’s learning, and he’s even memorized some Bible verses!
We also celebrated his fourth birthday with cake at church. He was very happy.
As a family, we’re still adjusting to our new routines.
🛂 Documents and Immigration
This week, we received a response from the consulate—they asked us to renew some documents. We have an appointment on June 26 to follow up.
Our immigration permit expires in one month, so we’ll either need to leave the country or pay a fine to stay.

📌 PRAYER
- For our temporary residency application — that the process moves quickly and that we submit the correct documents.
- For the people who are joining the church.
- That God would strengthen the marriages of those of us who are serving.
- For our health.
💬 SUPPORT
- Winter has been harsher than we expected, and we need warmer clothing to face the cold.
- Resources for the coming month, as we’ll need to either leave the country or pay the fine to stay.
